About Exam

UPTET is held for determining the selection of the applicants for Primary and Upper Primary Level Teachers in the Uttar Pradesh schools. Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board is the conducting body which is responsible for the entire examination process.

UPTET is a test that comes under state-level test, conducted by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board for recruitment of Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in various schools of Uttar Pradesh. If you want to apply for the posts of primary (Class I to Class V) as well as secondary school (Class VI to Class VIII) teachers in Uttar Pradesh then you need to clear the UPTET exam with minimum 60% marks.

Eligibility

Applicants would be required to fulfill the following to in order to be eligible and apply for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. The UPTET Eligibility Criteria is given below:

Primary

• Bachelor degree with a minimum of 50% from a recognized university and 2 years Diploma from NCTE/Rehabilitation Council of India
• Bachelor degree and 2 years BTC, CT (Nursery)/Nursery Teacher Training (NTT)
• Bachelor degree and qualified in Special BTC Training Program
• Bachelor Degree with 2 years and BCT Urdu Special Training in UP 
• Bachelor Degree and Diploma in Teaching from Aligarh Muslim University (Urdu Teacher) or Moallim E Urdu Degree before 11-08-1997

Upper Primary

• Bachelor Degree & BTC from NCTE approved Institute
• Bachelor's degree with 50% and B.ed /B.ed Special Education from Rehabilitation Council of India
• Intermediate (10+2) with a minimum of 50% and a 4 year BA/B.Sc.ED/B.A.Ed from NCTE/UGC recognized institute
• Intermediate (10+2) with a minimum of 50% and a 4 year Degree (B.El.Ed) in Primary Education
• Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 45% and B.Ed Degree

Sanskrit and English for Grades 1-5

• Bachelor's degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject
• BCT from NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) accepted Institute
• Diploma (D.Ed) 2 year from NCTE/ Rehabilitation Council of India accepted the Institute
• 2 year in CT (Nursery)/Nursery Teacher Training from NCTE recognized Institute

Sanskrit and English for Upper Primary

• Bachelor Degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and BTC /CT Nursery from an NCTE recognized Institute
• Bachelor Degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and minimum of 50%, B.ed or B.ed special degree from NCTE recognized Institute
• Bachelor Degree with Sanskrit/English as the main subject and minimum of 45% marks and a B.ed degree

Urdu teacher in Primary Section

• Bachelor/PG Degree with Urdu as the main subject from a recognized University
• BTC from NCTE Recognized Institute in UP
• BCT (2 years) in Urdu in UP
• Moallim-E-Urdu Degree Holder before 11-08-1997

Urdu teacher in Higher Primary Section

• Bachelor/PG Degree with Urdu as the main subject from a recognized University OR
• BTC from NCTE Recognized Institute in UP OR
• B.Ed/SpecialB.Ed degree from NCTE/RCI approved Institute
• BCT (2 years) in Urdu in UP OR
• Moallim-E-Urdu Degree Holder before 11-08-1997
• Diploma in teaching from Aligarh Muslim University

Application Fees

The UPTET Exam application fee for applicants who wish to appear in the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. The UPTET Application Fees is as given below:

• General and APW Category - INR 400
• SC/ST - INR 200

Physically Handicapped applicants are exempted from payment of application fees.

Application Procedure

The procedure to apply for UPTET exam is explained below:-

• Applicants should click on the link wherein Application Form has been released.
• The Link would open up to the online application window.
• Applicants should go through the detailed instructions before they start filling the application form.
• Applicants would be required to enter their personal details initially.
• Once the candidates fill their personal details, education qualification details would required to be filled.
• The applicant can then upload his photograph and signature.
• Applicants must check the details provided on the UPTET Application Form before fulfilling the application procedure.
• Applicants should proceed to make payment of the Application Fees. 
• Applicants would have to generate the e-challan once the application fee is paid.
• Once the Application Fees are paid, candidates are required to mention payment details on the dashboard to change the status of the payment.
• Applicants should take a printout of the Application Correspondence and maintain it for future use.

Exam Pattern

UPTET Entrance Exam divided into 2 papers - UPTET Paper 1 would be organized for Primary level while Paper 2 would be held for Upper Primary Level. Both the papers would have 150 Multiple Choice Questions of 1 mark each.There would be no negative marking in UPTET. Exam Pattern is as explained below:

Paper 1 (Primary): 

Applicants who want to be appointed as primary level teachers for Grade 1 to 5 should appear for UPTET Paper 1 alone.

Paper 2( Upper Primary): 

Applicants who want to be appointed as Upper Primary Level Teachers for Grades 6th to 8th should appear for UPTET Paper 2 alone.
