NMAT by GMAC is an important National level MBA entrance exam conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).


About Exam

NMAT is an MBA entrance examination for the admissions to the campuses of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and 19 other well known MBA faculties in India. NMAT is conducted via GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council). Therefore, NMAT is famously known by the name NMAT by GMAC.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for this exam is as follows: 

  • Candidate should hold a bachelor's degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from any Recognised university or Institute.
  • Applicants should have at least 50% score in aggregate in their graduation.
  • Applicants with work experience of two or more years after graduation will be favored for admission to all full-time programmes (according to admission information Handout of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
  • Students in their final year of bachelors can also apply for the exam where they will be provided provisional admission. The final admission will be granted only on clearing graduation exams in the first attempt with at least 50% of marks. The applicant must be able to submit all original documents within the stipulated term.

Application Procedure

The application procedure for this exam is as follows:

  • Using a valid e-mail address create an account on nmat.org.in.
  • Provide contact information, personal, educational and work experience, the list of programmes to send scores, and the id that you will use at the test center. Indicate your interest in taking part in a search service and agree to the terms and conditions.
  • Your name and date of birth which you input on the registration form should exactly match the name and date of birth on your primary and secondary identity.
  • Choose the schools to send your scores under the "schools preference" section. Up to 7 programmes are included in your registration fee. An additional charge of INR 200 + applicable taxes will be applied for each programme added in excess of 7 programs.
  • You should upload a photo that bears the likeness to you and the photo on your primary identity. This photo will be included on the admit card that you should bring.
  • Pay the test fee.
  • Once your payment will be done, your schedule examination option will be activated in your dashboard, so that you can go ahead and schedule your examination.
  • You will be able to download your admit card from your dashboard once the payment is realized.

Exam Pattern

NMAT is a 2-hour test containing Multiple Preference Questions.

There are 3 sections:

  • Language skills
  • Quantitative skills
  • Logical Reasoning

 

Each section is individually timed. NMAT exam pattern is as follows-

Some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) related to this exam are as follows:

 

Q. If a test taker completes answering and reviewing a section before the allotted section time completion, does the balance time gets added to the next section(s)?

A. No, one cannot add balance time of one section to the other. If a test taker completes answering and reviewing a section before the allotted section time expires, he/she may choose either to revise the section or move to the next section, but the balance time cannot be added on to the next section timing.

 

Q. How is the NMAT exam structured?

A. NMAT exam is a 120-minute test with three sections.

A. Yes, a test taker can review the sections of the exam within the allotted section time.

 

Q. Will the content of the NMAT change this year?

A. The content will not change. The exam will be a multiple-choice question paper that includes Quantitative Ability, Language Skills, and Logical Reasoning.

 

Q. How many times can a test taker take NMAT by GMAC?

A. A test taker can take up to a maximum of 3 times.

 

Q. How will a test taker receive the score report?

Selection Procedure

  • The selection process is purely based on merit.
  • The Institutes accepting NMAT score follow their own selection process for choosing the qualified candidates. according to the selection procedure, the institutes will be shortlisting applicants on the idea of their percentile in NMAT by GMAC each Institute will release its own particular cut off percentile. 
  • Final merit list will be set up as according to the application data in terms of academic profile, work experience, NMAT score, and execution in GD and PI.
