About Exam
National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level common Aptitude Test in Architecture Conducted via the Council of Architecture. The exam measures the applicants drawing and observation skills, the sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity & critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to Architecture.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the examination are given below:
- May be specified by respective Counselling/ Admission Authority.
- Applicant must have 10+2 or equivalent passed/appearing with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the examination.
- Applicant must have 10+3 Diploma (any stream) passed/appearing recognized by Central/State Govts with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the examination.
- The applicant who've International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling with Mathematics as a compulsory subject in examinations.
- In view of 10th Std Grade cards from which marks are not easily obtainable, Application Form fields "Total Marks", "Obtained Marks" are made Optional.
Application Fees
Structure of fees and mode of payments for all categories for NATA is given below:
- For General applicants, the application fees is Rs. 1800 (inclusive of service fee).
- For SC/ST applicants, the application fees is Rs. 1500 (inclusive of service fee).
- Applicants appearing for the exam in Dubai will have to pay Rs. 9800 (1800 + 8000 [additional fees]).
- Applicants can make the payment of application fees through State Bank of India/Bill Desk payment gateway (debit card/credit card/net banking).
Application Procedure
Procedure of How to Apply for this exam is given below:
- The registration forms for NATA is now available online.
- Students need to Register themselves on the website.
- Get a login to fill an application form and submit.
- Upload the Photograph image Maximum 4 KB to Minimum 100 KB and height 4.5 cm width 3.5 cm.
- Upload the Left thumb impression image Maximum 1 KB to Minimum 30 KB and height 1.5 cm width 3.5 cm.
- Upload the Signature image Maximum 1 KB to Minimum 30 KB and height 1.5 cm width 3.5 cm.
- Pay the required application fees using Netbanking / Credit Cards / ICICI Isure Bank Challan.
- Download and take a print out of the confirmation page

- Only one option will be correct.
- Every correct response will gain 2 marks.
- There is no negative marking, but wrong answering will be penalized in case of tie-breaking.

FAQs
Some of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) related to this exam are given below:
Q. Whether old question papers are available?
A. No. At NATA, question paper is unique of each applicant hence no old question papers can be made available.
Q. I am a foreign student / NRI. Can I take the test from my country of residence?
A. No. The applicant will have to register in India and give the test from any of the designated Test centers of his / her choice in India. The qualification process for giving NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) stands the same.
Q. Are there any additional fees payable for training, etc?
A. No training/coaching is allowed in Test Centres and no other fees payable for this exam. If any center insists on additional fees or participation in the training program, please report such incident to the Council of Architecture or NASA.
Q. What is the validity of NATA scores?
A. NATA scores are valid for two years from the year candidate appeared for the exam.
Q. Can I reappear for NATA test?
A. Yes, one can appear for NATA exam for a maximum of five times during the period of his/her latest scorecard validity. However, the aspirant will need to register every time he/she applies.

Documents to be Carried
Necessary documents to keep with you for the exam:
- Applicants must carry a valid original Photo Identity with signature as specified in the NATA Appointment Voucher. Check the list of permissible photo IDs.
- NATA Appointment Voucher.
- Exam materials like 3 to 4 soft lead pencils and an eraser.
- Crayons, Poster and pastel colors along with brushes.
- Geometry Box with instruments.
- A Blue ink pen or blue ballpoint pen.
- A government issued identification document, which has not expired like Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhaar Card etc.
- Admit Card of Class 12th for those candidates who are waiting for their results.
- The student ID card issued by that institute in which they are currently enrolled along with the confirmation of identity letter by the Institute duly signed by the head of the institution. It is valid for one year and must contain the photograph of the applicant duly attested by the Head of the institute.
