About Exam

(MAT) Management Aptitude Test is a standardized test being administered since 1988 to facilitate business schools (B-schools) to screen applicants for admission to MBA and allied programs. The government of India, Ministry of HRD permitted MAT as a national level test in 2003. All India Management Association (AIMA) is the responsible body for MAT examination. More than 600 B-schools accept MAT examination scores.

MAT examination takes place 4 times a year; February, May, September, and December. MAT examination dates and other schedules are introduced 3 months before the examination. MAT exam is an MCQ kind of test wherein applicants can choose to take the exam in either of the two modes – paper-based or laptop-based.

Any B-school - national or international - can consider MAT score as an admission input based on the scorecards issued to the applicants. The most important test of its kind in the nation, MAT will remain your passport to over 600 B-schools across India.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the MAT is as follows:

• Graduates in any discipline can take the exam.
• Final year graduation students can also apply.
• The age of the MAT candidates ought to be no less than 21 years.

Application Fees

MAT application form for MAT February has already been launched by means of All India Control Affiliation (AICA). Applicants can fill the form in both online mode and Offline mode.

The charges for applying from any of the methods is Rs 1500/- INR.

 The payment of fees can be done using any of the method given below:

• Net Banking
• Cash
• Demand Draft in favor of AIMA

Application Procedure

Candidate can choose any individual of the following modes to apply:

• Offline Mode

Application procedure will be entire only after the application fees has been paid.

• Offline application –

1. Visit the AIMA office in New Delhi.
2. Obtain the hard copy of the MAT application form, Bulletin, and CD by paying the application fee (the application fees must be paid in cash).
3. Fill up the application form. Paste a recent colored passport size photograph in the application form.
4. Submit the application form at the AIMA office.

• Online Application –

1. Visit the official website of AIMA and click on the registration link.
2. Fill up the application form online.
3. Here there are 2 options, either to upload recent passport size photograph and signature in the form.

Q. What is the mode of examination?

A. The test will be conducted in Pen-paper mode and computer mode. Candidate can choose any of the suitable modes to appear for the test.

Q. What are the dates of the exam?

A. The dates for the exam are as follows:

• Pen & Paper Based Test Date: 17 Feb 2019
• Computer Based Test Date: 23 Feb 2019

Q. In a year, how many times can I appear for MAT entrance examination?

A. MAT is conducted 04 times in a year, in the months of February, May, September and December.

Q. I have completed my graduation from Science stream, am I eligible to apply for the test?

A. Yes. A candidate should have done graduation in any discipline from any recognized university or should have an equivalent recognized degree.

Q. I am in the final year of my graduation, can I apply?

A. Yes. A final year student in any undergraduate program (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Com. /B.Tech. etc.) can write MAT but admission to such candidate will be granted on a provisional basis.

Q. When are we able to get the admit card?

A. The admit card can be downloaded from the AIMA website, generally 7 days before the exam is conducted.

Q. The scorecard is valid up to?

A. The scorecard is valid FOR ONE YEAR.
